Leaked Images of Xiaomi Mi 5 Suggest a 5.2-inch QHD Display

In January, Xiaomi announced the Mi Note and the Mi Pro but did not reveal a successor to their victorious Mi 4, which came out last year in January. However, this can change as the new device, tentatively named as the ‘Mi 5′, may arrive this summer. Recently leaked photos reveal new details about the new phone. The phone looks a lot like its predecessors in terms of its body design, only molded a bit more taller and thinner. Below are the alleged specs of the device. The phone is expected to have a 5.2-inch QHD display, 4GB RAM and powered by a 2.7GHz Snapdragon 810 chipset. The rest of the rumoured specs include a 16MP primary camera, integrated with an Optical Image Stabilisation for steady shots, a fingerprint scanner via the handset’s button and a 3,000mAh battery. Outlook.com Email Receiving Apps

Microsoft will launch applications on its Outlook.com email service. The company is expected to show some apps and add-ins for Outlook.com this week and some of the sessions at Build 2015 deal with the software. Apps and add-ins are currently only available for the Office 365 version of Outlook. Developers will soon be able to make an application that runs on Outlook for desktop, Office 365, and Outlook.com. A single store for these apps would be used across platforms. Since apps are limited right now, most of the ones that exist are for the enterprise, not regular users. The apps for Outlook move is part of a larger decision at Microsoft to turn Office into a platform.

Windows 10 Leaked Screenshots Shows 3D Live Tiles and New UI Update

While we are just a day away from Microsoft Build 2015 Keynote, it seems like Microsoft has plenty of features to show us. According to the recently leaked screenshots of Windows 10 OS, we are expecting to see a new blurry glass effect in the OS. This glass effect seems to be only present in the Start Menu. It looks cool, but disappears when you switch full-screen mode. Along with that, we are also seeing new 3D Live tiles in the start menu. It appears like a 3D flip and is better than the previous version. Microsoft has also updated the UI for Cortana. It is now more closely integrated into the Start Menu. We are expecting to see new Windows 10 Build tomorrow at the BUILD 2015 developers conference. So, stay tuned for more updates.

Facebook Messenger Now Supports Video Calling

Facebook is finally adding the much-awaited video calling feature in its Facebook Messenger app. This latest version is now available for download on both Google Play Store for Android users and Apple Store for iOS users. But this service is currently only available for Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Denmark, France, Greece, Ireland, Laos, Lithuania, Mexico, Nigeria, Norway, Oman, Poland, Portugal, the UK, the US and Uruguay.  To get started, just make sure that you have downloaded and installed the latest update on your phone. If you are running the latest version then you should see a video icon at the top of the conversation you of the person you want to call. Xiaomi Mi 5 could come with fingerprint scanning technology

Xiaomi’s Mi 4 successor was expected to be launched in January, but that certainly didn’t happen. Three months later, the phone is still in the rumor mill, with new reports suggesting the Mi 5 could come with a fingerprint scanner. First spotted by GizmoChina, Xiaomi has filed a patent application with the State Intellectual Property Office in China. The patent deals with a method to integrate fingerprint scanning into the touch buttons on a handset. The fingerprint scanning technology will most likely be embedded into the Mi 5′s home button at the bottom. Motorola seems to be on a discounting spree as it has slashed the price of Moto G (2nd gen) and the Moto X (2nd gen) in India. The Moto G (2nd gen) is getting a flat Rs 2,000 off which brings the sticker price down to Rs 10,999 and the Moto X (2nd gen) has received a Rs 3,000 price cut for both the 32GB and the 16GB variants. In addition to launching the Lumia 640, Microsoft today also launched the Lumia 640XL in India today. As the name suggests, the latter is essentially the phablet version of the Lumia 640, and it too was launched at MWC last month. The phablet is priced at Rs 15,799 in India, and will be exclusively available on Flipkart from today.
