It was a moment of glory for the megastar of Tollywood Chiranjeevi as he received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to cinema at the hands of none other than Rekha. Chiranjeevi, who said he had to now consider acting in films again because of Amitabh Bachchan’s request, had another request from Rekha. “ Please act with me in one Hindi movie and then you can act in a Telugu movie, ” she told Chiranjeevi. She spoke in Telugu much to the delight of the audience. Chiranjeevi said he was overjoyed at receiving the award but said it only meant he should achieve more. Jayasudha, a politician now like Chiranjeevi, also received a Lifetime Award for her contribution from Venkatesh. Ramcharan has heavily criticised senior director Dasari Narayana Rao at 58th filmfare awards pressmeet. When Charan was questioned by a journalist about Dasari’s recent statements on heroines that they are not attending award functions and not participating in movie promotions, charan responded strongly by saying that “ All heroines are participating in award functions and few of them are even performing too on stage. We’ve seen in last year’s filmfare awards function, how many actresses have come down and had fun here . ” When asked about why native telugu girls are missing in telugu movies, charan said “ Due to our culture, our girls are not allowed to act in this generation movies. Megapowerstar Ramcharan bagged yet another award and this time its Santoshan Annual Award.He was awarded as best actor for the year 2009 for his performance in Magadheera .Dasari Narayana Rao handed over this award to Charan.Anushka got best actress award for Arundhati and on this occassion Charan smilingly said that “ I am congratulating Anushka on winning this award for her role in Arundhathi.I am happy Anushka is not born as male, otherwise she would been my competitor in film industry “. Megapowerstar Ramcharan won filmfare award as best actor for his second movie Magadheera . This award was presented by tamil star Suriya in a awards function organised at Chennai last night. This is the 57th Filmfare awards for south indian movies, which is sponsored by IDEA for this time.
