Micromax Canvas Spark launched for Rs. 4,999

Micromax has finally launched its brand new Canvas Spark smartphone in the Indian market. Micromax Canvas Spark is the low budget Android smartphone which will be on sale starting April 29. The price of this smartphone is Rs. 4,999 and it will be available exclusively on Snapdeal.com. Talking about the features, Micromax Canvas Spark comes with a 4.7-inch of qHD IPS display screen with Gorilla Glass 3 protection, powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor, along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of Internal Storage. The device runs Android 5.0 Lollipop Operating System and also features microSD card slot with 2000 mAh battery inside. Micromax Canvas Spark has 8MP camera on the back with LED flash and a 2MP on the front. The company says that it will be on sale via the flash sale method. Which means to buy this phone you will have to register first. At this price, Canvas Spark will be competing with Redmi 2. Moto E 2nd Generation and Lenovo A6000 Plus.

Micromax Canvas Pep launched for Rs. 5,999

Micromax has launched a new low-cost Android Smartphone in India. Dubbed as Micromax Canvas Pep, the phone comes with the price tag of just Rs. 5,999 and is now available for purchase. You can buy it in Pristine White or Mystic Blue color. “Designed for the young hyper social new age consumer, the latest smartphone enables seamless multi-tasking at a speed of light,” said Micromax.  Micromax Canvas Pep comes with a 4.5-inch of FWVGA display screen, powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of Internal Storage. The phone also includes a 5MP rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front facing camera. On software front, Micromax Canvas Pep runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat Operating System. It is very similar to Micromax Canvas A1 Android Phone.

Yu Yureka gets first OTA software update with bug fixes

The software is about 74MB in size, and doesn’t really introduce a lot of major changes. Instead the changelog mentions that there are fixes security, and improvements to the proximity sensor and dual-SIM functionality. As mentioned above, this is an OTA update, so you should receive a notification. Alternatively, you can also head to Settings -> About Phone -> Software Update. Micromax beats Samsung to become India’s largest smartphone vendor

Samsung is no longer the largest smartphone vendor in India. As per the latest stats provided by research analyst group  Canalys , Indian smartphone brand Micromax has surpassed the South Korean technology company to claim the top spot based on their performance in Q4 2014. Canalys reports that Micromax now captures 22 percent of market share compared to Samsung’s 20 percent. This is the first time an Indian smartphone brand has taken the top spot. Indian smartphone manufacturers Karbonn Mobiles and Lava have bagged the position for third and fourth largest smartphone manufacturers respectively. This is the first time in years when Samsung has lost the top position in the country. Canalys notes that this is mostly because of Micromax’s relatively cheap-priced offerings in the Canvas range. With the launch of its new online brand, Micromax followed the footsteps of Xiaomi in the Indian market. As similar to Xiaomi, Micromax also partnered with a website to exclusively sale its smartphone in India. The company already started taking registration before couple of days of the sale date and when the time came, it just disappointed its fans as similar to Xiaomi. Micromax Yu revealed that it made around 10,000 units of the Yureka phone available for purchase at Amazon India website and within three seconds, it was out of stock. While CES 2015 moves along, Micromax has quietly launched the Canvas Breeze Tab P660 on Snapdeal.com. The tablet has an MRP of Rs.19,999, but Snapdeal is offering a massive discount and selling it for just Rs.9,990. It is a dual-SIM tablet with 3G connectivity and voice calling functionality. It has a 7.85-inch 1024x768 pixels display and is powered by the quad-core MediaTek MT8389WM CPU clocked at 1.2GHz. Micromax is today launching a new Android smartphone. The company’s latest Bolt series smartphone have been spotted listed on the online shopping website eBay. Dubbed as Micromax Bolt A3520, the phone comes with a dual front-facing speakers, as similar to the one which you might have seen in Micromax Bolt AD4500 or HTC’s devices.
