Moto X and Moto G 2nd Gen gets a Price Cut in India

Motorola seems to be on a discounting spree as it has slashed the price of Moto G (2nd gen) and the Moto X (2nd gen) in India. The Moto G (2nd gen) is getting a flat Rs 2,000 off which brings the sticker price down to Rs 10,999 and the Moto X (2nd gen) has received a Rs 3,000 price cut for both the 32GB and the 16GB variants. After the price cut the Moto X (2nd gen) 16GB version will retail at Rs 26,999 and the 32GB version at Rs 29,999.Additionally, if you buy it with an SBI  credit card, Flipkart will sweeten the deal further with another 10 percent off bringing the effective price of Moto G (2nd gen) to Rs 9,900. This offer is also available for the Moto X and will further reduce the price by Rs 1,200. Apart from these buyers would also be offered double 3G data from Airtel for a period of two months.

Motorola has been forced to slash the price of their smartphones owing to the fierce competition from brands like Xiaomi and Yu. Although Motorola were the first one to disrupt the budget Android market with the Moto G and the Moto E last year, it seems that they are finding it difficult to match up phones like Yu Yureka and Xiaomi Mi 4i which offer more value for money.
