LG teases its dual-display smartphone ahead of October 1st event

After a long rumors and speculations, it is now confirmed that LG will unveil its dual-display smartphone on October 1. The company confirmed the news via a teaser video for its event in New York on October 1st. But unlike other dual-display smartphone like Yotaphone 2, LG’s upcoming smartphone will have a small, secondary “ticker” display on the top. We already got our first look at the smartphone when it passed Chinese regulator TENAA. This isn’t the first time when we are seeing a smartphone with secondary ticker display. Samsung already tried to do something like that in 2010 with Continuum and later made it more better with the launch of the Galaxy S6 Edge. As per the leaked details, the LG V10 smartphone is expected to come with a 5.7-inch of quad HD display screen, powered by a Snapdragon 808 processor with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of Internal Storage. It will also include a fingerprint sensor.

Motorola is ending its exclusive partnership with Flipkart. The company has now decided to sell Moto series smartphones via other stores too. Starting with the Moto E 4G, now Indian customers can buy this Motorola smartphone from select Airtel stores, Amazon or even Snapdeal. Motorola entered into the Indian market with an exclusive partnership with Flipkart. Since February 2014, the company had sold 5.6 million Motorola smartphones in India through Flipkart. Android 6.0 Marshmallow to start rolling out on October 5

It appears like Google might start rolling out the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for Nexus devices starting October 5, as revealed by Canadian wireless carrier Telus. Google usually ships new version of Android Operating System on its new Nexus devices, so the company might also start shipping the new Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P at the same time frame too. Facebook rebrands Internet.org as Free Basics, adds new features

Facebook is rebranding its Internet.org service as Free Basics. The service which aims to offer free Internet connection is now live in 19 different countries and India is also among one of them. While Facebook didn’t explain why it is rebranding the service, but the new brand still fails to answer the net neutrality questions. Internet.org or Free Basics is a free platform which allows poor users to access web contents free of cost. The company has partnered with carriers to offer this free Internet facility.
