Acer brings 5th Gen Intel Core processor based device to India

Acer announced that it will be expanding support for 5th Generation Intel Core processors by adding the CPU to their Aspire E5-571 notebooks in India.

S Rajendran, Chief Marketing Officer, Acer India said, “Acer continues leading the industry in computing innovation by enhancing the user experience. Consumers will now be delighted working on the E5-571 which now comes with the latest 5th Generation Intel Core i7 processor.” He added that, “Intel’s 14nm process delivers premium performance, stunning visuals, and battery life which take the device’s performance to the next level of computing.”

The U series of 5th Gen Intel Core processors supports two cores and up to four threads with Intel hyper-threading technology. In addition, Intel Turbo Boost 2.02 controls the performance and power of both cores and graphics to boost performance.

Processor power design improvements across CPU, graphics, I/O, and power management, along with the increased power efficiency combine is said to offer users an improved battery life vs 4th gen Intel Core processors (U series). The 5th Gen Intel Core processors with Intel HD graphics have a 15W TDP with a configurable TDP (cTDP) option which claims to deliver the balanced performance and battery life needed for thin, innovative 2-in-1s in addition to mainstream designs.

The Aspire E5-571 notebook with Windows 8.1, up to 12GB memory and 1TB hard disk, incorporates the latest NVIDIA GeForce 800M series card and which is said to provide cinematic or gaming experience. Powered by the 5th Generation Intel Core i7 processor, the notebook is said to provide upto 7 hrs of battery back-up.

The notebook is equipped with a Precision Touchpad (PTP) that supports six core Windows 8.1 TouchPad gestures, reducing un-intended tap and cursor motions on the touchpad and improving pinch-to-zoom, smoother scrolling and screen navigation.

Built-in digital microphone and high quality speakers are said to enhance bass band audio performance and allow authentic Skype communication. The device is Skype Certified, which is said to offer one of the best Voice over IP (VoIP) experiences.

It comes with a built-in optical drive and with a slim form factor. The Aspire E5-571 is available in five colours: Titanium Silver, Midnight Black, Tiger’s Eye Brown, Sapphire Blue and Garnet Red.

The 5th Gen Intel Core i7 processor powered Aspire E5-571 is available in India with prices starting at Rs. 44,999.
