These are Windows 10's new features

We already knew a lot about Microsoft’s new Windows 10. Thanks to the Windows 10 event of September, and the Technical Preview, which was released just a couple of weeks after the official announcement. Now with the New Year, Microsoft is back again with a new chapter for Windows 10. In its recent Press Event, the company revealed some of the exciting new features which will be coming to Windows 10.

The main change in the OS comes to the desktop experience; Windows 10 puts the best of Windows 7 and 8 into a single package. There’s lot more changes to the OS that are to be explored. Below are some of the features which company unveiled.

Cortana: If you are a Windows Phone user then you might be familiar with Cortana: Microsoft’s take on a personal digital assistant. The mobile version of Cortana offers features that are a mixture of Siri and Google Now, but the PC version has a few added features. You can ask for “PowerPoint slides about the charity account,” it’ll search your computer and OneDrive accounts for relevant files; it can also send an email entirely through voice commands.

Project Spartan:
Project Spartan is a new browser for Windows 10; it is entirely separate from Internet Explorer. It would have a very clean, almost Chrome-like design, and a new rendering engine, but it focuses on social sharing. You can highlight and annotate websites before sharing them with friends. There’s also Cortana integration and a reading view that lets you read pages offline.

Better Settings:
In Windows 10 the settings menu has a clean design and simple options, and there’s also the new Action Centre, which has many toggles for many different settings. You can also see pop up notifications in this area.

Now anyone can stream any Xbox One game to any Windows 10 PC or tablet. But, you have to be on the same network, it’s pretty massive news for gamers. There is also a new Xbox app for PC and tablet that lets you access your activity feed, messages and friends list.
Free Upgrade:
This is definitely not a feature, but it’s worth mentioning: Windows 10 will be free for everyone using Windows 7 or 8.1, provided you upgrade within the first year. But we still don’t know when you can actually use this feature.
