Packaging

The flash drive comes in the standard hard plastic packaging, which is actually totally sealed. At the back of the tough packaging has relevant information written on it, such as capacity and warranty. The package also have HyperX logo and the transfer speeds written on it.

Build and Design

The design of the Kingston DataTraveler HyperX 3.0 is somewhat like a basic USB Drive with extra add-on of HyperX and the name is clearly printed on the front of it. It’s about double the width of a large flash drive, may be due to extra innovation of kingston. And this extra-innvoation is actually the number of NAND pieces inside though, which greatly outnumbers what you usually find inside a basic ThumbDrive. The extra NAND delivers huge capacities, up to 128GB in this case, but also accounts for the high transfer speeds thanks to the eight-channel architecture.
The drive has a plastic cap with the same color and rubbery texture as the body of the USB drive. Kingston uses blue paint with a texturized finish that sets it apart from other drives in the market, and is consistent with the rest of their HyperX line, including the SSDs and RAMs. The drive definitely looks good and edgy, and is of premium grade, just as army grade for saying.

The front of the drive has a standard male USB port, offset to the bottom. It is fine in case of Desktop while its thickness may be a con if you’re using use it in the compact notebook along with any other USB device, as it may not allow any other device to be plugged into.
There is also a hidden logo which is a blue access light that subtly blinks when it is active or been plugged or while transferring data.

Performance

In terms of performance, this USB 3 drive is a tycoon for short. Looking at the specs that we did mention earlier, it is to be noted that the eight-channel architecture, makes it faster than other 4 channelled architecture. And its huge capacities can also be a point for choosing it.
