Windows 8.1 Update Top 5 Features

Windows 8.1 Update
With the launch of Windows 8, Microsoft tried to make its Operating System easier to use on touchscreen devices and they really did it. Windows 8 was a lot better on touchscreen devices as compared to Windows 7. But there are still lots of Windows Users who hate this modern UI based Operating System as it wasn’t working well on traditional PCs with mouse and keyboard. So, to solve that issue, the company decided to launch an updated Windows 8.1 Operating System to make it more compatible with keyboard and mouse. The new Windows 8.1 Update brings lots of new features to Windows, like the new shut down button in start, a new way to operate Metro Apps and lots more.
This new Windows 8.1 Update will be available for download after April 8. Have a look on some of the interesting features which we love in Windows 8.1 Update.

Start Screen with Power and Search

If you give Windows 8 to any Windows XP or Windows 7 user and ask him to shut down the PC without using any shortcuts, then it is obvious that he will fail to do that. As with the launch of Windows 8, Microsoft removed the Start Menu and moved the Shutdown buttons in its Charms bar along with other app-specific controls, search, settings and sharing option. But things have now changed in Update 1. As Microsoft has now added the shutdown and a search button in the top right corner of the screen.

In this new Update, Windows will now boot directly to the desktop instead of showing you the start screen and if you want, then you can select the boot to start screen option. Windows Store apps now come pinned to the desktop taskbar and you can pin any modern or Metro apps which you like to the desktop taskbar.

Windows 8.1 has been now tweaked to run on low-specification powered devices with as little as 1GB of RAM and 16GB of Internal Storage. According to Microsoft the upcoming Windows devices will use this feature; those who are updating their existing devices won’t see this benefit.

Universal App Support

Windows will now allow developers to create universal apps which can work across all Windows platforms, allowing them to create a better app optimized for all screen sizes and inputs.
