How To Undo a Sent Mail In Gmail?

Have you ever sent a mail mistakenly to other contact? No problem, now you can undo a sent mail in Gmail for a time limit of 5 – 30 seconds with the undo send option. It’s a most common error because as you start entering the email address you will be prompted with a list of appropriate addresses.  It’s quite helpful, but sometimes it might result in sending the mail to the wrong person.

Steps To Undo a Sent Mail

Not only the above situation, but there are also some other situations where we accidentally press Send button before composing a mail or sending the mail to other contact accidentally only to realize later about the mistake. Here are some simple steps to follow in undoing the sent mail.

Step 1 – Login into your Gmail Account.
Step 2 – Click on the Gear symbol at the top right hand side of the page.

Step 3 – Select Settings.
You will find several tabs available.
Step 4 – Select the Labs Tab
Step 5 – Scroll down to Undo Send or type Undo Send on the search bar.
Step 6 – Enable the Undo Send option and click Save Changes.

Now you will find Undo link at the top of the page which you can use it whenever you want it. You can set the time limit minimum of 5 seconds and maximum of 30 seconds for the undo option. You can do this by going to General Tab under the Settings

The Undo Option is a hidden feature in Gmail and it works because the mail which you have sent will be held by Google in their server for a period of time which you have specified before it gets delivered. This help with Gmail will be quite useful.
