Bombay High Court stops Zanjeer (Thoofan) trailers

Zanjeer promotions hit hard as Bombay High Court bars both the Hindi and Telugu versions from being released Apoorva Lakhia, Priyanka Chopra and Ram Charan Teja may have never even thought in their worst nightmares that so many things could go wrong with their upcoming film, Zanjeer in such a short time.This order was passed following a complaint by Sumeet and Puneet, the sons of Prakash Mehra that Amit Mehra, who had bought the remake rights of the film, has defaulted on his payments, running into crores. Needless to say, Sumeet and Puneet terminated the contract granting the remake rights following this, leading to a legal battle.Sumeet and Puneet have approached the Bombay High Court which has asked the makers not to release the trailers of both the Hindi and the Telugu version of the film.Reliance Entertainment was forced to remove trailers of telugu version Thoofan and one song ‘Mumbai ke Hero’ from from their official youtube channel.Though they are still available on other unofficial channels, until further orders from court, zanjeer/thoofan promos cannot be released or shown in theatres or television.Starring Ram Charan Teja, Priyanka Chopra, Sanjay Dutt and Prakash Raj, Zanjeer is the remake to a 70s blockbuster starring Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bhaduri, Ajit and Pran.
