Saif and Kareena's Marriage is illegal ?

Despite getting their marriage registered and taking all the necessary care for giving it a legal status, Bollywood lovebirds Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor's marriage has been declared illegal by religious heads. The problem is with Kareena (Hindu) not converting into Islam before marrying Saif (Muslim).

As per Shariah (law derived from the Koran), both the bride and the bridegroom should be Muslims to enter wedlock and this marriage is illegal as Kareena is still a Hindu. The couple should follow certain rules to get acceptability for their marriage in the community.Another angle to the issue: "A Muslim will marry a Muslim, if he/she believes in Islam. As Saif got married to a Hindu girl, the community will treat him as a non-believer in Islam," says a Islamic leader.
