Google introduces new ART runtime in Android 4.4 KitKat

Image
The new Android 4.4 KitKat comes with many new features, among all this new version of Android includes an optional runtime option which is called as ART (Android Runtime). However it is currently an experimental feature in Android KitKat, and Google might consider replacing Dalvik with the new ART runtime feature. Dalvik is the feature which is responsible for runnings Android apps. It uses a JIT compiler which is called as Just-In-Time compiler to interpret bycode, which is said to be a partial version of the original application code. While the new ART uses the AOT process (which is short of Ahead-Of-Time) and basically pre-compile the bycode into machine language the moment an app is installed, making them in essence native apps. This new ART feature will remove the need for a virtual machine or interpreting code, which will result in a decrease in the startup times. If you are using Android KitKat, then you can easily enable this feature by just going to  Settings  >

Buy Nexus 5 on T-Mobile coming November 14th for $499

Image
The new Google Nexus 5 will be available for T-Mobile users starting from November 14th in $449.99. But for web users only, it won’t hit the stores until November 20th. While Sprint has already started selling the Nexus 5 both in its store and online with the same price tag. There is a huge difference in the price of Nexus 5. This phone is currently available for $349.99 on Google Play and these carriers are selling it for $449.99. Relating the high price, a T-Mobile representative told CNET that the carrier is not in any way increasing the prices so that it can generate profits, instead of that they are paying full retail price to purchase Nexus 5 from LG. So, Google is selling the phone at a loss on Google Play, either they are willing to generate more interest or they want to encourage customers to buy directly from Google’s official store instead of going through carriers.
