Google Fiber services may launch in India soon

Google is planning to launch its optical fiber-based internet service in India. The company might soon launch Google Fiber service as part of the Digital India program. According to the new reports, the search-engine giant is currently in talk with the top officials in the IT Ministry regarding the same. But we still don’t know whether the company is planning to acquire a telecom license to offer Fiber services or it will use any other way.

Google is yet to make the announcement official. But as per the reports, some experts from Google’s US official are expected to come India to evaluate the project and if everything goes right, then we might also see a sample project in future.

A Government official stated, “We are keen to partner a company like Google in furthering the Digital India plan. Modalities have to be worked out.”

If you are unfamiliar with Google Fiber. Let me remind you that this is optical fiber-based broadband service which was originally launched in 2012. Under this service the company offers high speed internet to its users. The Internet speed is around 100 time faster than the normal Internet connection.
