Microsoft announces new Surface Pro 2 with Haswell and dual-stop kickstand
Along with Surface 2 tablet, Microsoft has also announced it’s second generation Surface Pro 2 tablet, which is a newer version of it’s flagship 10.6-inch Windows 8 tablet. There is not much major changes in Surface Pro 2, but Microsoft claims that the display of this new tablet has has 46 percent greater color accuracy then the previous one. It has also Dolby Speakers and is now faster than 95 percent of Laptops, as said by Microsoft. The graphic performance has increased by 50 percent.Microsoft’s VP of Surface, Panos Panay says that, “We improved the performance on this product by 20 percent, if you thought it was fast before it is lightning fast now,This time Microsoft has worked to resolve the biggest complaints of it’s users who were facing problem with built-in kickstand of previous Surface Pro tablet. The new tablet’s kickstand has a second position that can prop the tablet up at a 55 degree angle, which was earlier just 22 degree angle on previous Surface Pro tablet, adding a much more sloped position for it to stand in and making it more comfortable.
The company has also unveiled two new accessories along with these new Surface Tablets. You are now getting a docking station for Surface Pro, which will transform your tablet into something like a PC with USB ports for connecting keyboard and mouse.
Panay believes that Surface Pro 2 will be enough to provide “full power of a PC in a tablet form factor.” The tablet will be shipping with the latest Windows 8.1 Operating System on October 22nd, after few days of Windows 8.1 release. The price of Surface Pro 2 will be starting from $899, with 4GB of RAM with either 64 or 128GB of storage, and 8GB of RAM with either 256 or 512GB of storage. As similar to Surface 2, The pre-order for Surface Pro 2 will also begin on September 24th.
