Exclusive scholarship prospects are now available for ambitious Indian graduates


Common wealth scholarship plan, New Zealand awards-2011
Two commonwealth scholarships are available for Indian nationals residing in India for pursuing their Masters or Ph.D. in environmental studies and agriculture and fisheries in New Zealand.
Financial support: The scholarship will include air travel costs, tuition fee and course costs, textbook allowance, research allowance and a thesis allowance. Along with this, students will be given medical insurance and an annual stipend of NZ$ 17,380.
Eligibility: Applicants should have completed their Masters degree in the subject with a minimum 65 per cent for applying for a Ph.D. and a Bachelors degree with a minimum 65 per cent for Masters level studies. They must be residing in India for at least two years before applying. Applicants should be 40 or under.
Procedure: Completed application forms printed on plain paper should be submitted by May 20, 2011. Recent passport sized photographs and attested supporting documents should be attached to the application. Incomplete applications will be rejected. Jawahar Lal Nehru memorial fund scholarship
These scholarships are available for Indian citizens as well as other nationals who want to pursue their PH.D. in India. Applicants must specialise in one of the following fields; science and technology, religion, international relations, Indian history, interface of social change and economic development, environmental ecology and studies in the life and works of Jawaharlal Nehru.
Financial support: The scholarship includes Rs 9,000 a monthly maintenance allowance including the tuition fee. An annual Rs 12,000 contingent expense will be provided for study tours within India, books, stationery and thesis costs.
Eligibility: Applicants must hold a first class postgraduate degree. They should be registered for a Ph.D. degree with a University in India approved by the Government in a subject in one of the areas of specialisation. Applicants must not be over 35.
Procedure: Completed application form together with all the necessary enclosures should reach Administrative Secretary, Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Fund, Teen Murti House, New Delhi-110 011 before May 31, 2011. UNESCO/ISEDC fellowships programme - 2011
UNESCO and International Centre for Sustainable Energy Development (ISEDC) in Moscow are offering 20 fellowships of four weeks in the field of energy and sustainable development, ecological management of energy resources, renewable energy, sustainable and renewable energy power generation.
Financial support: Beneficiaries will be exempted from paying tuition fee for the entire duration. Along with this, a $900 monthly stipend will be given. Health insurance and a round-trip international travel cost will also be provided.
Eligibility: Applicants must hold at least a bachelors degree in economics. They should be proficient in the Russian language and should be in good health. The age criteria is 45 and under.
Procedure: All applications should be endorsed by the National Commission for UNESCO and must be duly completed in English or French. All supporting documents must be attached with the application form. Selected candidates will have to complete a medical examination. Deadline for submission of application is May 31, 2011. Maitri Global Education scholarships
Maitri Global Education (MGE) is offering three scholarships for students from South Asian countries to pursue their one-year Masters programme. The programme has to be in either design or marketing at the Polimoda International Institute for Fashion Design and Marketing in Florence, Italy.
Financial support: The three scholarships are worth Euro 5000, Euro 2500 and Euro 1000 each. This will cover partial amount of the tuition fee and the money will be given in two installments.
Eligibility: Applicants must be graduates or have an equivalent degree from a recognised University. They should be registered in MGE and must be admitted to a Masters programme in Polimoda. The age criteria is 45 and under.c
Procedure: Completed application forms along with supporting documents have to be mailed to the scholarship department, MGE, 12R Via Bernardo Cennini, Florence, 50123 Italy. The deadline for receiving applications is June 15, 2011. An essay stating the reasons why the applicant chose Polimoda and why he/she deserves a scholarship should be attached with the application form.
